Artist Statement
"Colorful world" The clattering of knitting needles and the colorful weave of wool are cherished memories from my childhood. As an artist, my journey has taken me through various stages and aesthetic explorations, each filled with new inspirations and ways of self-expression. Initially, my chosen media were classic and academic – oil, ink, and clay – but years ago, I discovered the joy of working with wool. Living in Canada, surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes, I felt inspired to experiment with felting. My needle-felted artworks are crafted using a unique technique that I have developed over time, allowing me to sculpt and paint with wool in ways that bring my visions to life. This approach not only adds texture and depth but also infuses each piece with a sense of warmth and tactile beauty. Needle felting is a well-known fiber art technique, yet the technique itself means little without a story to tell, a fairy tale to inspire, or a vision to evoke wonder. Through my art, whether in traditional or contemporary forms, I aim to share the warmth, love, and care that reside in all of us. My work invites viewers to reconnect with their inner child, the part of us that still sees the world with innocence, beauty, and sincerity. In that nostalgic, magical place called "childhood," one can find the beauty of scarlet poppies, trees adorned with pink and white blossoms, and skies painted in extraordinary shades of blue. In our fast-paced lives, we often overlook this vivid, colorful world of boundless possibilities and small wonders. My hope is to reawaken this sense of wonder and remind others that the magic of God still surrounds us – if only we pause to look.
